SM Group started its operations in the year 1965 and became widely known by the name of Madras Agencies in 1970. In the year 1995 Shakti Merchant came into existence. In view of rising demands, more and more companies came into existence with Shakti Mahima being the latest. Today, SM group-the parent organization-is controlling the operations of 4 companies with different business interests allied with tea.

Shakti Mahima – The Company is looking after the operations of ‘Shivani Black Gold’ brand. The brand is being marketed to cater to the upper segments of the consumers. Plans are afoot to soon launch a series of Herbal/ flavored teas. The range will cover beverages known for their nutritional value, like Green Tea, Oolong and superior White Teas. These products will also be marketed abroad to fulfill the increasing demand across the world.
Shakti Merchant – Packaging is important for a product like tea. Shakti Merchant is responsible for sourcing and packaging of various teas for all the group companies. The company also provides packaging services for other manufacturers.
The packaging operations of all the Tea brands under SM Group are being undertaken by this company.

Shakti Agencies – The company is one of the biggest suppliers of bulk tea in Rajasthan. With the growing acceptance of loose tea, the company bears a huge mantle of supplying good quality product meeting all the requirements of the trade in a reliable manner.
Madras Tea Co. & Madras Agencies – This Company undertakes complete Marketing operations for the various brands of SM Group.
